That's looking really good. It will be a fantastic area and I'm sure you will spend a lot of time enjoying your hard work in the future.

So I took a few pictures and videos of what I have been doing. Since it wasn't WFO related I haven't been consistently posting. Let me know what you guys thing. For those that have followed the build you will see I have added retaining walls and some plants and then the most obvious is the patio work.

If you want to see a Video of the completed bottom section of the patio click video link at the bottom

Hey Guys! I've still been working on the oven and the patio area a lot! I'll be posting some more pictures within the next few days.

    Re: A New Journey

Well I was out shopping and found an entire box of ciabatta dough for $3 so it was a must buy.
And since I fired the oven up to the 600's on Friday I thought that on Saturday I would insulate
and really let it burn to clear up the dome and cook some ciabatta.

After about 4 hours of letting the fire burn down it was still up at about 500 degrees so I thought
I would make use of the heat and some dough I accidentally left out. As you can also see,
the dome cleared up pretty nicely.

There is a small gap that I'll fill with a gasket rope and some high temp sealant. Since it won't be seen though... the aesthetics of the way it looks now aren't a big deal to me.

    KB,

I like the term "Plausible Deniability" . And I also like the gothic arch. With a lowered hemi, it will draw great!

    Doc,

About the flu brick "jetting" over the back of your internal arch: Are you going to take the flu a couple of courses higher, or are you going to fill in underneath with v or pcrete?

The tunnel arch I kinda pulled from Stonecutter's structure of a gothic arch
Not only is this innovative and promises to provide a very effective flue gallery, the catenary arch shape is the most stable of all.

Thanks for the compliment John. Coming from you it means a lot! The tunnel arch I kinda pulled from Stonecutter's structure of a gothic arch. It worked out ok I think.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll stick with the 14" hemi. On another note I've been firing daily usually around 200-350 for about 3-4 hours. Today I've got up in the 400's Haven't noticed any cracks cause its all black on the inside but on the outside I have several hairline cracks. Does it really matter? What do I need to do to correct/fix if anything? And no I don't want to demo and re-do

I think you want the outer arch a bit bigger than the inner arch, just to get the door in...

My math was a 16" wide hemisphere which would be 15 inch tall
