    Excellent!,
Glad to see that you are "pointing", and not just "packing" it in .

I did some measuring today and I think I'm going to do the brick stack. It will look great and cost less than the copper and less hassle too. I think I have the flashing figured out since I am a "tin knocker"

Not bad at all for a tin knocker!
Ha! thanks. I was very tempted to cut it the way Tom suggested but the randomness appealed to me more. I love playing with Stone and am a tad envious of you guys who get to do creative stonework for a living.

The Brick stack is something I have not thought about, but might solve the problem of finding a copper guy to build that assembly. Trying to wrap my brain around flashing it. I do have some Hardi leftover and my one brick! maybe I can build a Copper looking Chinamans Hat Cap and still have that Copper thing I keep going back to.

Frame it up and veneer it with brick.

Thanks Dave, Im very happy with how she is coming along. Once the Pointing is done, all that left is paint on the Facia and the roof Tile which I need to go pick out. There a roof company in Austin that has a huge Boneyard of leftover Tile, etc. Maybe I can find something interesting. Not exactly sure how Im going to cap the stack.

    Gudday
I do like old brickwork , like stonecutter said its like working with stone. Old anything , has a pantina ....., a texture, a colour , a few bumps and scratches which it collects from its life .
Your oven has a has a lot of that character, those bricks are really special. And your pointing only makes IT.
Congratulations it's not only a technically oven, but one that you have crafted to suit
    Regards dave

Tried my hand at Puck Tointing, I mean Point Tucking, Whatever... you know what I mean.
This is fun, I want to go do a large building now but I'll leave the vertical joints for someone else to do .
Once I got in a rhythm and found my timing to slide and brush, it went well. I mixed the first batch too wet and its a tad sloppy, oh well, go ahead and throw me in Masonry Jail!
Cant wait to spend a whole day on it. I like the look.

edit: BTW, Tom, I had 1 brick left out of the whole order, 1 brick!
