Re: 38" build in Slovenia
I am in no hurry. I think it will take another week for perlite layer to dry fully.
I have following materials on my disposal:
- 5 bags of 25kg concrete mix (0-4mm agreggate size)
- 1 25kg bag of cement
- 1 25kg hydrated lime
- 1 100L bag of vermiculite
- 1kg glass fibers
I wanted to add vermiculite and lime to concrete mix to get lighter and stickier concrete but I am not shure if that is OK.
After firing the oven a couple of times I am confident that insulation is thick enough. After 1.5 hour burn the dome is completely clear. I keep it burning for additional hour then I close the entrance with firebricks (no door yet). This saturation of heat gives me three days of usable heat. My temperature drops about 40 C / 105 F in 24 hours and the whole time the outside insulation is cold.
So basically all I need is final hard crust over the whole thing. Can you suggest me the best way to do it?
