Re: My first attempt for 42" oven / changed to 36"
Today i had shopping
I bought 50 bricks for start and floor base plates.
Bricks size is 22x11x6 cm (or 8.6x4.3x2.3 inch)
Floor plates are 50x25x6 cm (19.6x9.8x2.6 inch)
I get this plates to avoid to use more bricks.Last edited by George_M; 12-05-2014, 09:02 AM.

The more air you can retain in the perlite mix the better the insulation value. I mixed mine in a barrow with a hoe. The air in the perlite is the reason for using it.

Hello George - Yes measure by volume and mix it carefully so as to keep as much air in the mix as possible.

Hi,
I will start the frame for the perclete soon.
I plan to use 8:1 ratio.
My question is this ratio is in parts?
For example i will fill 8 buckets of perlite and 1 bucket cement?

Re: My first attempt for 42" oven / changed to 36"
Hi,
Some updates.
I found perlite from agricultural store, are in bigger grains and i think is better than the first bags of perlite which i bought and they are like sand.
So,i will return the perlite back in the store.
