Hi All
Just checking in.
Oven is pretty much on hold as I have had to begin construction on our Verandah and Deck. As my partner son's landscaping team have completed all the holes for the verandah posts and deck stumps. I have managed to get these concreted and all jbearers and oists installed for the deck. This weekend managed to get 6 posts installed with 2 left to install.
Oven base completed and I'm up to the hearth but alas I have no room to set up the brick saw.
Will post photos soon.

And some more. The flue is double skinned and insulated.
I researched this to death and found a place in South Australia called Timeless Classic wood Stoves https://www.timelessclassicwoodstoves.com/
The flue is 8" internal diameter made up of 1 metre, 250mm, tree cowl and a step down double to single for the anti down draft cowl. I will weld a 300 x 300 stainless plate to the bottom of the 250mm flue to act as the mount base with a hole cut out. Flue bits $500 + $59 delivery. Possibly overkill but flue I previously used on the first build l paid the same amount for shipped from the US. That one is now well over $1200. So being able to source in Australia was a bonus.
The flue will be longer than the last one by about 300 so should aid drawing more.

Hi Paul
The top is 2200x2400 on a 2200x2200 base. As for the front I purchased extra bricks when i built the first oven so the front will be the same. The flue I used was imported from the US however they are now nearly $500 more. I sourced my flue in Australia this time and actually I purchased it last week and waiting for delivery. It is double insulated - checkout Timeless Classic Wood Stoves - they are in SA and only charged $65 delivery.
The first oven held up really well virtually no smoke coming out the front staining the brickwork. It drew very well so tapering the flue gallery really helps there
no i like for this one as I knew i would be moving. The only thing i will do differently is the pentagram feature
What I would change is the base had no work area and I like the look of a seamless height eg hearth and external table at same height. If your look hard at the first oven I did not like the bottom of the red brick arch it looked crooked this time. Plus I needed to have a wood storage space as there is no where else to store wood, it will hold about 2sqm of wood.
Your chimney idea sounds aesthetic just ensure it is at least 200mm internal dimension and try to bevel the internal from 250-300 to the 200 at the gallery entry point to flue so it is a smooth transition. You will see this at https://community.fornobravo.com/for...201#post232201 check out pages either side.

Hi Colin,
Massive full on foundations, looking forward to seeing this oven get built,I plan on building my oven similar to your first with the red brick front, Is there much you would do differently with the red brick front and chimney? did it hold up well? I was planning to build chimney up about 1mtr above oven then transition to 8" stainless flue.

Hi Russell
I am in process of cleaning garage as we moved all our bullshit items from inside the house to garage, old stereo system etc as i am moving towards everything being wireless no wires.
Once i have room in garage i am looking at developing an idea i have had to create an adjustable metal ring that fits each course allowing the each ring of fire bricks to sit against this ring so a whole chain can be layed with no mortar, the last brick locks everything into place.
Just an idea, i am playing with to use spring force to hold the courses in place.
But alas i need to get final colour on base, table top on and then get the insulation layers and hearth bricks in place.
No we are locked down hopefully can get more done not having anywhere to go.

Hey Colin,
Looking good on the base. I am sure the oven end of the business will be precision as well.
