    Hey Colin,

Looking good on the base. I am sure the oven end of the business will be precision as well.

    Hi All

Well, I finally have the base rendered with the texture coat, need to seal surface which will be the final colour. Final colour will be Colourbond Monument which will be much darker than the colour in photos.

Hi Dave. Yep another one. As you get older you slow down. Although with work I seem to be working harder with covid.

Great to hear from you. Hopefully will be getting more completed more often but have a lot of projects concurrently running.

    Pergola down side way
    Verandah and deck out back
    Garden to complete
    Wfo oven
    Paving

    Anyway no rest for perfectionists

    Hi

So it has been a while, but with all things re CoVid lockdown, crappy weather, Parents illness, work, Ii have managed to finally get the first couple of coats of leveling coat of render done.

Texture coat hopefully next week, then the final Acrashield colour coat a couple weeks after that.

Then get the top of base on and I can then get serious from there.

    Hi David

Yes, onto it. I have 4 power panels sitting on my front porch. picked up for $40 each bargain. The whole base will be rendered and sealed. Cant seal the tops of blocks, as the adhesive has to bond to the panels and blocks to create a solid monolithic structure. I did lay a damp course between concrete and the first course of Hebel. Pretty much same as first oven just bigger.

    Hi Colin,
As Hebel is so water absorbent it would be prudent to seal the top of the Hebel supporting slab to prevent rising damp. Get the Hebel Power Panel, it has 4mm reinforcing rods cast into the centre.
Looking forward to your new build.

Ok done. next step render and finish the base. Not sure when i will get back to it. Next 5 months are really hectic.

The centre row of Hebel on the base supports the middle of the oven hearth. Before table top is placed i will run and angle iron lintel across the openings to support the table/hearth.

    The table base will be 75mm hebel panel/75mm insulation tiles/25mm calsil board/75mm x 600 x 300 fire brick tiles

    OK

Let's work out how this is going to work.... Just like Lego, I love Hebel.

Aim to maximise storage as I have nowhere to store any wood. So it needs to go in here.

Photos loaded show the setting with all the forest removed, excavated, crushed rock spread. The Yucca root mass gone [thank God]. Now the fun begins, with all the infrastructure stuff and oven base, garden beds, irrigation, pipes under paving water pipes, electrical wiring needs to be installed, pond installed, pump, Shishi Odoshi etc. Will be hooking all of outside to voice control [Echo Alexa].

    Let the fun begin

Here are the photo's of the property and what I had to contend with to begin with. The Yucca was over 5m tall. Leveled to a foot from ground. Stump was 2m x 1.2m
