Thanks, The steel I used for the door is a little heavy duty, but it was what I found laying around. The plan all along was to have the rollers, so weight was not to big of a concern. The door is insulated with ceramic board and it does a decent job of holding in the heat.

Very nice door indeed and the rollers make moving it possible.
Looking at the photos, it seems like you have some pretty heavy duty steel plate you used for fabrication, what is it 1/4" for the outside and a little thinner for the inner surface?
Did you sandwich any insulation between the surfaces?
Did you plan for rollers right from the beginning? Or after finding out how heavy the door actually is?

I saw a hinge down door in a video of a commercial oven which I thought was great, but I knew I not only wanted the door to lay down, but also be easily removable for cooking pizza, removing ash etc.

So many good ideas are on this site. I mixed up your inspiring door, cobblerdave's, and Geenman's door to name a couple that inspired me. Then melded it with my own experience and knowledge.

Wanted a durable insulated door that I could hinge down and or roll out for loading bread without having to pick it up and remove it. Note the little rollers at the bottom which allow it to lay forward and or pull forward without dragging on the hearth. Works great, no more picking up a heavy, hot door just to load multiple loaves of bread.

So many good ideas are on this site. I mixed up your inspiring door, cobblerdave's, and Geenman's door to name a couple that inspired me. Then melded it with my own experience and knowledge.

The door is great and use it the most. The photo shows the door in "blast door mode"
and inside face is stainless steel around the port hole (pot lid). The photo shows the door pulled back from the oven dome entrance. The thermometer gets to 200c - 250c max. Most of the heat goes up the flue. And think the door would reflect back some heat. It also looks good
My build has a a flared entrance, (its not brick) and has a couple of inches gap around the door in the photo.
Note that it works equity well for baking, and bread, though I am still in the experimental stage with the oven.
