    How's the back holding up?

You should be firing that thing soon.

No turkey for Thanksgiving, but you should be ready for Christmas ham!
    Dave,
my back has been slowly adapting to the stooping and what not. At first I thought I was gonna die, but my back eventually quit complaining so much. it still gets a bit sore after stooping over the oven for 2hrs

I had hoped to be able to cook a pizza by next weekend, I dont think Ill be able to hit that mark.

Would you mind explaining how the you use the stick as a guage? Do you use it for the radius of the brick circle, the angle of each brick in that row or both, or something else?

    Thanks

    Rich
basically, I use the line created by the bottom of the wood to determine how much mortar i use in the back. It creates the same angle between each brick all the way over the top. its centered and swivels 90 deg up and down and 360 degrees around in a circle. pretty neat tool built out of leftover 2x4 and a hinge
I hammer the brick down in the front and bring it flush with the course below it, right on the edge. so far its been a great tool. I fixed a smaller piece to hold the bricks in place since now they want to "slide" due to gravity.

Ok... Things are starting to zip up pretty fast here. These are the pics of work I got done over the 3 day weekend. Veterans day was a holiday at my workplace. I got some good work done during this time. My arch held up, I cant say enough good stuff about the REFmix. Hard as a rock.
