Dino, I've enjoyed watching every step of your build. The final product, as well as the entire yard and garden, looks great! It's really quite awesome. I don't think I'll be showing this final photo to my wife. She might want me to do a redo!

    Congratulations!

Congratulations on a job well done! Love that you took the time and pride to stucco inside the wood storage. It's that attention to detail that stands out.

One more thing: I really want to thank you all on this Forum. It's been 1 year and 5 months since we started digging footings and according to my spreadsheet below, I'm $5000 poorer...strike that... RICHER with this beautiful oven.

I never could have done this without the help of all of you on this forum, whether a completed build, concurrent build or just your input and encouragement. The people on this Forum are truly a special group. I feel like I've made friend from all over this country and the world thru this process.

This should be the link to a few more finished pics

A sincere thanks to you all,

    I think, I think, I think (but can't believe it) I'm done!
I acid washed my outer arch bricks so they are sparkly and red again. There is nothing left to stucco, so it's done. Technically speaking, I still have to make my side storage door that will match the eaves and real, insulated steel oven door for when I'm baking but those will take a back seat for the summer.

Thanks Daren, I owe a lot of my success to following your oven build. It's really been a great help to me.

Gary, I'll be right over when I get bored to help you out but I'm having way to much fun watching you build from my computer screen. I'm sure your oven will be just as successful as everyone's, maybe better.

I had left over acrylic fortifier so I bought another bag of SBC and color to do the inside of the rear storage. It's going to get a wood and iron door on it but until then it looks better and there's fewer/none crevasses for spiders and bugs to hang out in.

Here is a pic of the before look:

This is after I applied the SBC to the inside:

    Dino

It has been about 3 weeks since I've been home and have not been able to work on my WFO. I see that you are in the final stages of your build, (which look great by the way) and I'm sure that you will get very bored soon without anything to build. Therefore I will swallow my pride and let you come to my house to complete my oven! No need to call just go in the back yard and start working.
I just hope that mine comes out looking half as good as yours!

    Gary

Thanks John, it's the stones themselves that make this mason look good. I'm keeping my day job .

The eaves are an oiled alder wood. And that is slate. I'll be taking some finished 'beefcake' pics of the oven soon to show everyone. Although, that SBC (stucco job) I did turned out so well, I'm going to get another $15 bag of it to line the inside of my rear storage too even though it will have a door on it.

    To Peter (KraemerBAC):
The stones are "manufactured stone" by Eldorado Stone. I used mostly "Roughcut: Moonlight" and about 25% "Limestone: York". Here is the website and when you click products at the top, it lets you click on the region you live in that shows the stones that are available in your area.

    Thanks, Dino

Dino its been a little while since I saw progress shots of the enclosure but must say that the stone work is first class!! Thought about changing occupation and becoming a stone mason!!

Did you use cedar in the eaves?

The contrast from the Slate roof (assume its slate) to the eaves and then to the stone work is perfect!! Overall great colour scheme.

    Keep the photos coming

    cheers

Thanks you guys. I appreciate your comments. Like Gary said, there is always some little thing to do. I'm going to try to tackle those little things right away.

Peter, I can remember only 1 of the stone types, I've got the other brochurs at work. I used a "cultured" stone (cement poured into stone molds with a color and texture added). I'll get back to you on that.
